Tiny dancer in my belly...

Oh, how I am so excited to meet your pudgy little face

To catch you with my own two hands

In my own familiar & safe surroundings

And welcome you with delighted squeals of "OMG I DID IT!!!"

And to tell the triumphant story of your birth

To all those who worry or are scared or think we're completely nuts

That, no, there's no crazy in this home

You all will have to go to Winnie or the like to find the real crazy.

I have to say, the marketing of hospital maternity units has always creeped me out.

You know Rixa, it's funny. They never seem to market their > 39% cesarean rate. And that's just the number that is published, it does not include premature births and multiples. It just makes me gag that so many Mamas walk in there expecting a wonderful uncomplicated delivery (with concierge service available after the birth, of course) not knowing that they very well stand a 50% chance for major surgery that will then alter the rest of their obstetrical life and was most like caused by the simple fact of walking in the front door. It's just sad. But then again, they sure do have a beautiful entrance...I wonder if the exit is always so pretty.

I am so excited for you. You are making such an informed and conscious decision for your baby and for yourself.

Hope you are enjoying the end of your pregnancy!!!
